Privacy Policy

VeliAlert(“we”, “us”) is an iOS alarm app. This policy explains exactly what data the app and its server collect, and why. The short version: setting alarms is free, works entirely on your device, and never requires an account.Viewing and managing notifications or SOS alerts you’ve already received is free too. Only sending a new notification or raising a new SOS alert remotely — and the optional paid “remote control” feature more generally — involves an account or a server-side record at all. We do not sell your data, run ads, or use any third-party advertising or behavioral-analytics SDK, anywhere in the app.

Information we collect

Push notification token (APNs).To deliver alarm, reminder, and SOS notifications to your phone, the app registers a device token with Apple’s Push Notification service (APNs) and shares it with our server. This token is used solely to deliver notifications to your own device — it is never used to send anything to any other device, and it is never shared with a third party.

Apple Sign-In identity — only if you subscribe to remote control. Signing in with your Apple ID is the one prerequisite for even attempting to subscribe; it is never required for the app’s core alarm, notification, or SOS features. If you do sign in, our server receives your Apple-issued account identifier (“sub”) and, if Apple provides it, the email address associated with your Apple ID — you can choose to keep this private via Apple’s own “Hide My Email” option, in which case we only ever see a private relay address, not your real one.

Subscription and purchase status. When you subscribe, we verify the purchase directly, server-side, against Apple’s own App Store Server API. We keep only the resulting entitlement status (e.g. active, expired, in a free trial) tied to your account — never your payment method or card details, which Apple handles entirely on its own and never discloses to us. This status is never shared with any third party.

Crash and error diagnostics (Sentry). Both the app and its server use Sentry for error reporting only. Its performance-tracing feature is fully disabled (its tracesSampleRate is set to 0), so Sentry never records performance metrics or in-app behavior of any kind. It only receives a stack trace plus basic device/OS/app-version information at the moment an actual error or crash happens.

Remote-control audit log. If, and only if, you subscribe and generate a remote-control link, every action taken through that link — and through the app itself — such as an alarm being set, snoozed, cancelled, or triggered, is recorded in a server-side audit log tied to your device, so you can review exactly what happened and when. This log is never sold or shared with any third party.

What we don’t do

  • No advertising, and no third-party advertising SDK of any kind.
  • No third-party behavioral-analytics SDK — nothing tracks how you use the app.
  • No sale or sharing of personal data with data brokers, advertisers, or anyone else.

How we use this information

  • To deliver alarm, notification, and SOS pushes to your own device.
  • To verify and maintain your remote-control subscription entitlement.
  • To let you review your own remote-control activity in the app’s audit log.
  • To diagnose and fix crashes and errors.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the services that are structurally required to provide the features above: Apple (for push delivery, Sign-In, and subscription verification — all necessarily Apple’s own systems) and Sentry (for crash/error reporting only, described above). We do not share data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party, and we never sell personal data.

Data retention

We keep account, subscription, and audit-log data only for as long as it’s needed to provide the remote-control feature — generally, for as long as your device registration or subscription is active. You can revoke your remote-control link at any time from the app’s Settings screen, independent of everything else in your account.

Your choices

  • Revoke your remote-control link anytime from Settings.
  • Turn off notifications anytime from iOS Settings.
  • Delete the app to stop all on-device alarm functionality immediately.
  • Contact us (see below) to request deletion of any account data tied to your Apple identity.

Children’s privacy

VeliAlert is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date above.
